Vicky Barry’s School of Dance is run and directed by Victoria Barry. Vicky set up the first school in Kildare Town in 2003 while still attending University training as a professional dancer. Vicky has a received a Diploma from The College of Dance, Dublin and trained in Millennium Dance 2000 in London, England after receiving a full scholarship to attend. During her studies at Millennium Dance she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary Dance, Singing and Acting. On her return she decided to reopen her dance classes in Kildare Town while completing a HND in Presentation and Performance and a BA Hons degree in Media Production Management from DCU. While completing her studies she continued to run the dance school in Kildare town while also teaching for another Dublin based Stage school. After completing her degree Vicky decided to expand the school and opened two more dance schools in Allen/Kilmeague in September 2010 and Clane in 2011. This Septmember 2014 The Vicky Barry’s School of Dance agan expanding the school to Newbridge with classes taking place every Tuesday in the énergie Fitness Centre.

The school continues to improve and develop each year as students excel in the field of hip-hop, commercial and jazz dance, singing, acting and performance. The Vicky Barry’s School of Dance likes to keep up to date and is always striving to be modern, innovative artistically by using music that the students know and love, that’s new to the charts and by including new dance styles to the class as hip hop dance still continues to develop and change all the time.

At The Vicky Barry’s School of Dance we teach young people to dance, sing and perform while also improving self-confidence and having lots of fun along the way. Over the past 8 years Vicky has seen students develop to a high level of dance and singing while also gaining so much self-confidence making it a skill for a life. Many students plan to continue into the world of performance using the skills they have gained from the school as a platform to becoming a professional dancer, singer or performer. However many students also just want to attend for fun or to help them gain in confidence. Whatever the reason we cater for all students, from beginners to advanced.

The School is also launching the TALENT AGENCY this September where all students from the school have the opportunity to audition for feature films, tv commercials, tv dramas, photo-calls, print advertising, catalogue modelling, voice-over work, children’s television, presenting, short films, theatre, radio, music and special events, if they wish to do so.

We cater for students who have developed to an advanced level by having an Under 10 advanced class and an over 10 advanced class. These students will develop their skills at a very high level in order to compete on a national level.

Each year The Vicky Barry’s School of Dance holds an annual show where parents, friends and family can attend and see the progress they have made throughout the year. The students get the opportunity to shine in the spot light and every student gets their turn at the front! Students also have the opportunity to take part in street dance competitions, festivals, parades and fashion shows throughout the year.
