Any student of the Vicky Barry’s School of Dance can join the Talent Agency for free.

FAQ:

What type of work will I be considered for?

You will be considered for feature films, tv commercials, tv dramas, photo-calls, print advertising, catalogue modelling, voice-over work, children’s television, presenting, short films, theatre, radio, music and special events.

I have no experience. Can I join?

Of Course! There are castings for all levels of experience; from acting, modelling, singing, dancing, presenting, performing voice-over work, reality tv and movie-extra work. Casting personnel are always on the lookout for talented newcomers when casting children and Vicky Barry’s School of Dance gives you the opportunity to show them what you’re made of!

Am I guaranteed work?

No. It should be stressed that, due to the nature of the industry, it is impossible to guarantee work for members. The decision to cast members is not made by Vicky Barry’s School of Dance. This is always made by industry personnel. It’s about being in the right place at the right time, and our agency simply gives you the opportunity to be seen by casting directors, production companies, advertising agencies, PR companies, photographers and industry personnel who are casting children in Ireland.

How much does it cost?

It is free to join the talent agency. However, there will be a charge of 15% commission on any work you do get.

How do I join?

Only students of the Vicky Barry’s School of Dance can join the agency. Please let any staff members know of your interest. All students will need a headshot. Headshots are 8 x 10 prints of the performer where the face is clearly shown. This does not mean that the image is just of the head. The point is to have a clear image of the performer. Also on your headshot will be the name of the performer. This is usually in the bottom right hand corner. Included with your headshot you will staple a resume (facing outward) to the back of the headshot. This resume will include your basic stats. By stats is meant your height, weight, hair colour, eye colour and the like. As well as your training and experience. You will also include a special skills section listing off various things that you can do that would be helpful for any casting director to know.
